The Ford Escape is a compact crossover SUV that Ford has marketed since 2001. A few years later, Ford released the Escape Hybrid. It was Ford’s first foray into hybrid vehicles. While the Toyota Prius was released in the late 90s, the Escape Hybrid boasts as the first-ever hybrid SUV.

The 2024 Ford Escape ST-Line is equipped with a powerful 250-hp turbo 2.0-liter I4 engine. It also comes with 18- or 19-inch wheels, a mesh grille, and a rear spoiler. Inside the SUV is an all-black finish with red contrast stitching. If you opt for the standard trim, you still get a solid 181-hp turbo I4. For the standard interior, cheap plastic is apparent, but easy to address with add-ons. As infotainment goes, ST-Line models come with an 8.0-inch system with 13.2-inch as optional. The system runs Ford’s latest Sync 4 interface with the capability for automatic updates.

For gas mileage, the 2024 Ford Escape sits about average at 27 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. Cargo is a bit generous when you check behind the rear seat.
